Downtown construction is almost done!

The downtown is very and construction is expected to end by Thanksgiving.  Our rear entrance is still available  and we have some private parking directly behind our building.

11/3/08 Update:

We get our construction updates on Wednesdays so we will do our best to update the website with the latest info every Thursday or Friday.

Parking:

Parking is plentiful...or as plentiful as it gets in downtown Oregon. The lot behind our store is available and is accessible using Jefferson Street from Janesville Street.  Parking in front of the store is available all the time now and the Village Hall lot just across the street is also available.

Construction:

ACCESS to our block is now GREAT!

The main intersection is open to traffic and they are basically done with South Main Street. They will still be putting in some trees, street lamps, etc., but it should not impact parking or access. North Main Street is under construction and basically closed to traffic so if you are coming from the North side, it is better to turn left on Grove Street and follow Spring Street to the Village Hall Parking lot or onto Janesville Street and then park out front of the store.

The contractor appears to be well on their way to meeting or beating the November 27th deadline.

Work on the railroad bridge continues. One lane under the bridge is now open nights and weekends and they expect it to open during the day within a week or so.  We still recommend accessing downtown via either North Main Street or Janesville Street as the contractor will be pouring new sidewalks and paving the road over the next week.
